Do All to the Glory of God

1 Corinthians 10:31 says "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." This scripture puts things into perspective for me. It's not just in our prayer time and our time that we spend in church that we should be glorifying God. It's in ALL that we do! If we would only take the time and ask ourselves before we do anything does this glorify God, how much better off our lives would be! I think of many times that if had only applied this scripture to my life it would have saved me from failure. Because if we are glorifying the Lord there is no way possible that we could ever fail. The problem arises when we rely on our flesh to make decisions and I guarantee that when we leave our decisions to our flesh we are asking and can expect trouble with a capital T. If you think about it when we're not doing and saying things for the Glory of God then we are being selfish. Anytime we feed our flesh it is a selfish act! But, anytime that we put God first then we are and we will Glorify Him! It is so easy to let our thoughts be ruled by our flesh. When we allow our thoughts to be controlled by our flesh then those thoughts can and usually do turn into actions. Once that thought turns into an action we have sinned against God. We have to be constantly and consistently on guard when it comes to our thoughts. Romans 1:21 says "21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says 3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"
We have to take captive those thoughts that are not glorifying God. I am not saying it is easy because in reality being Christlike is the most difficult thing you and I will ever do. We can never go wrong as long as we put God first. So, the next time a thought comes into your mind ask yourself is this thought glorifying God? If you ask the question you will get the answer. It's when we don't ask ourselves that God will be excluded! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of relying on my flesh to make my decisions for me. I'm ready for God to have ultimate control! Romans 12:1-2 "1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
